Faculty Spotlight

Dr. Aslihan Karatas, PhD joined the University as a full-time faculty member in the fall of 2015. She received her Master of Science degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Florida in 2009, and her Doctor of Philosophy with an emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014. She also worked one year as a postdoc in the Civil Engineering Department in the University of Michigan. 

Dr. Karatas continues her research on sustainable construction design, building energy efficiency strategies, construction project planning and scheduling, and risk analysis in construction projects. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE), the Society of Women Engineers, the US Green Building Council (USGBC), and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).
